Bonjour, je suis Trouvé, Gustave Trouvé!
Jacques Blanc was recently looking through documents in a very old chateau in the Charente Region of France. This chateau had once been lived in by Monsieur Elie Ferrand, a Cognac distiller, who had visited Trouvé's workshop in Paris and in 1886 had sent the inventor two cases of his very best Cognac brandy, in admiration of his work. So imagine Jacques' surprise and pleasure when, among M Ferrand's papers, he came across this visiting card which has survived some 130 years! It is as if we were invited to visit him, and indeed in a month's time a number of us will be visiting that address for the official inauguration of the plaque. Thank you Jacques for communicating this to us. If a visiting card can survive, then surely so too can many others.....watch this space!
