From 11 to 19 May, 2019, the Commune of La Haye-Descartes, in collaboration with Gilbert Jamois and Kevin Desmond, are organising an Exhibition entitled “Gustave Trouvé, French Electrical Genius, 1839 à 2019” to celebrate the 180th anniversary of the birth of the remarkable inventor.
These are just a few of the things being planned to mark his birthday:
At least ten owners of machines invented and built by Trouvé have agreed to loan their precious survivors to the exhibition, while a replica of his 1881 electric boat and paintings and sculptures of the inventor are being created.
A dancer wearing colourful led lights, another of his inventions will give a performance.
Current owners of electric boats have been invited to regatta on the local river Creuse.
Owners of electric vehicles, from electric bicycles to automobiles, have been invited to drive to La Haye-Descartes from all over France for a rally in honour of the inventor of the world first battery-electric tricycle.
Paintings and sculptures are also being prepared.
